3 necessary things to do with your blog`s RSS feed

I guess you know what is RSS (if you don`t, just check wiki and then get back to this post). And one of the main aims of any blogger is to get more and more RSS subscribers. Actually the amount of your subscribers depends on the worth of information on your blog. So this amount must increase naturally and automatically. Still there are 3 general things you can do with your feed to benefit.

1. Add your RSS feed to Feedburner online service.

Feedburner.com is a service you should redirect your blog`s original RSS feed to (check original feed of this blog). Using Feedburner you are able to manage your RSS feeds, track your subscribers amount and their activity.

Adding your feed to FeedBurner is a quite simple thing. It is implemented in several intuitive steps, so just visit Feedburner.com to make sure of that adding your RSS feed.

Take a note that after redirecting your feed to Feedburner, any following feed manipulations should be implemented exactly with Feedburner version of your feed (e.g. this blog has Feedburner feed like this – http://feeds.feedburner.com/selinks/FARc).

2. Add you RSS feed to RSS directories

After getting the Feedburner version of your feed it is necessary to add it to RSS directories. There are 3 main benefits that RSS directories may provide you: additional traffic, backlinks and fast SE spiders indexing of your new posts. If you want to have more RSS subscribers, put the subscription invitation below each of your posts. Actually most of blogs have special RSS icon, but people often don`t pay much attention on it, and if you offer to subscribe to your RSS feed under every blogpost it may work well for you.
