Some time ago I published my backlink analisys tips on this blog. Then I started thread on DigitalPoint forums to demonstrate the application of the backlink analysis technique. The thread had to become something like a case study. Now I`m going to summarize all data obtained during processing backlink analysis for DP members.
I analyzed just 50 unique backlinks for each website, but that was quite enough to explore the linkbuilding strategy of their competitors. Below I`ll put the analysis results and the development of linkbuilding strategy based on them.

- 30 website directories;
- 2 article directories;
- 1 ask answer website;
- 1 blog (post link);
- 2 blogs (comment links);
- 3 company websites;
- 2 social networks;
- 1 forum;
- 2 reviews website;
- 2 social bookmarks;
- 1 rss feed.
And here is the linkbuilding strategy for wblteam to make his website achieve the same TOP results as protoolreviews.com:
1. Submit website to 20 social bookmarks;
2. Purchase 10 blog reviews (or try guest blogging);
3. Submit website to the 50 website directories ;
4. Write 15 articles to submit to article directories;
5. Put your website url into your forum signatures;
6. Leave comments on 30 related blogs;
7. Purchase several contextual links on related 10 websites.
This strategy should be implemented for 2 or 3 months.
Case study №2: mbmcarpentry.com for MikeTheBuilder (download the full report)
50 Backlinks of mbmcarpentry contain:
- 26 blogs (comment links);
- 2 blogs (advertising post links);
- 2 blogs (blogroll links);
- 9 companies listing links (topical websites directories, company websites, city websites);
- 3 forum signatures links;
- 5 partners links (company websites);
- 2 user profile links;
- 1 social news link.
Similar to the Case study №1 you may guess what strategy should be used to achieve good ranking for mbmcarpentry niche website. Just notice that in the second case I analyzed the backlinks of the whole website (not just the main page).

p.s. A little note to those people, who think that websites in competitive niches cannot achieve good ranking with purchased links. Try to implement backlink analysis for TOP10 websites of online casinos niche. And you`ll find that about 30-70% backlinks of most of them are purchased links. So do you still believe that you can get excellent SEO effect only with natural links?
