Google Pip-XMAS-Update – affiliate websites CRASH!!!

Are you already frightened? No, I`m not going to make you calm. This week Google changed it`s ranking algorithms and these changes had really terrible results for affiliate sites webmasters. Beginning from Wednesday a lot of affiliate targeted websites lost their TOP positions and instead of their places were occupied with the brand websites, who had very far from TOP positions before.

In addition there were several cases when affiliate websites pages were just excluded from Google Search Results (or banned). And this happened even to those websites, whose traffic was rather high and backlinks amount rather significant. For example you should check several T3leads affiliate websites. 2/3 of them were just banned.

But what caused Google to introduce Pip-XMAS-Update? Actually reasons are quite clear. Affiliate website is just a “gateway” to lead visitors to the brand website, so Google trying make life easier))) and reduce the way to information user is looking for.

Is there any way out? Of course there is. Don`t compete with brand websites If you are webmastering the affiliate website you should turn your attention to long tailed keywords (e.g. the detail product description).

We are waiting for your feedback on the Pip-XMAS-Update and the ways you try to adopt your affiliate websites to new ranking algorithm.
