Google tricks – do you already use them?

google tricks

Google is the most popular search engine of the world and millions of people daily use it to find any information they need. But just a small part of the greatest search engine auditory know about Google tricks. Actually the vast majority of people just don`t even hunch about their existence though Google tricks are very – very useful. Due to them you are able to find much more information that you really need.

So let`s stop chattering and get to Google tricks list. I just refine that you have to use them right in Google Search Box:

link:url
Find pages linking to specified url (at the moment this operator is not working correctly so better use Yahoo Site Explorer for these purposes).

related:url
similar to “what’s related” on SERP.

site:domain
restraints search results to the specified domain.

allinurl: term1 term2… termN
shows only pages containing all specified terms in the url.

inurl: term
similar to allinurl but just for the one (next after operator) term.

allintitle: term1 term2… termN
shows only pages containing all specified terms in the title.

intitle: term
similar to allinurl but just for the one (next after operator) term.

cache:url
returning Google cache version of the specified url.

info:url
shows pages containing the url, backlinks to the this url and a lot of other useful information.

filetype: filetype
restraints searches to the specified filetype.

phone: phone number
enter a phone number and you`ll see the address and name displayed.

allintext: term1 term2… termN
shows only pages containing all specified terms in the text

allinlinks: term1 term2… termN
shows only pages containing all specified terms in the links.

How can you use all these tricks? For example you need to find some information for parcing. The easiest way is to parse from txt files. So you may use the next construction:

filetype:txt keyword

or find how many pages of the specified website are in Google index:

site:www.website.com
