Actuall I don`t know the exact technical details of spyfu blocking, but closing Yahoo search spiders is often implemented in robots.txt file with the disallow directive.

the second quick one answer):
yes of course: if you prevent Yahoo from crawling – that means you pervent Yahoo from indexing)

Quick question. I remember reading somewhere about a way to block those programs like s p y f u and other commercial programs that can crawl the site and provide a back link analysis. I think it was done in the htaccess file.
You mentioned something similar about owners closing their sites to Yahoo search spiders. Is this the same thing?

One more quick one:))
If you make it so Yahoo Site Explorer can’t get to your site, doesn’t this also prevent Yahoo from crawling your site for the purposes of indexing, or is that different?
