Have you ever asked yourself: how does Google find link is purchased or not? Certainly Google is a very wise one, but it is still a robot, so it uses definite algorithms to understand is the link natural (and will it pass the link weight) or is the link purchased. Maybe you think this question is useless to think over, because you try to use just natural linkbuilding techniques and say NO to purchased links. But if you are professional SEO auditor you might understand that some niches are so competitive, that your website has no chances to get high rankings only with natural links (maybe it actually has chances, but first you need to wait for several years)))).
So how does Google know if link is purchased or not? If we find the answer, we`ll be able to find the way to buy just those links, which seem natural to Google.
Actually there are 5 main “symptoms” of purchased links:
1. Links to different subjects websites on one page.
Usually websites selling links sell several links on every page and very often these pages are linking to different subjects websites. So it is very simple for Google to define that links on such page are purchased.
2. Links blocks.
Generally purchased links are placed in blocks containing 3-5 links and located in sidebars and footers. This is one more “symptom” of purchased links.
3. Link blocks signatures.
Usually purchased link blocks have the next headers: Partners, Sponsors, Friends etc.
4. Anchor text.
If the anchor text of the majority website backlinks is the definite keyword – that may seem very unnatural. Better use website URL as anchor and include keywords into the text enclosing the link.
5. Different links on different pages.
If you find different links in the same locations of different pages – you may be certain that they are purchased.
So do you want to buy links without getting penalties from Google? Just try to avoid purchasing links with the abovementioned symptoms and everything is going to be alright)
